Introduction to the Isaiah 11:1 Project

Restoring the foundations of original Christianity through historically accurate, theologically sound biblical education.

"There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit."

Isaiah 11:1

The Hebrew Scriptures called its original audience to follow Moses, who would lead them in knowing and fearing the Lord. In his place in the NT, it issues the same call, except that the One to follow is no longer Moses but Jesus who is Yeshua the King (HaMelech).

One of the Messianic prophecies about Yeshua Jesus is that He would sprout from the root of David. We are grafted into Christ, who is the vine growing up from that root. So it literally defies the Scriptures to say that Christianity replaced Judaism, the Jewish people, or the Jewish nation.

What Is the Isaiah 11:1 Project?

The Isaiah 11:1 Project @ Root and Branches is a Hebraic Christian Education Study Program dedicated to helping believers worldwide rediscover the Jewish roots of their biblical Christian faith.

The name draws from Isaiah 11:1 — the prophetic image of a shoot emerging from the stump of Jesse, a branch bearing fruit from ancient roots. This image captures the heart of the program: that authentic Christian faith cannot be fully understood apart from its Hebrew foundations.

Founded and taught by Jim and Maria  Long alongside Dr. Richard Booker, the program equips students with the knowledge, understanding, and wisdom needed to walk in the fullness of the biblical faith that Jesus and the Apostles instituted and practiced.

The Name

Isaiah 11:1 — a shoot from the stump of Jesse, a branch bearing fruit from ancient roots. The program's name is its mission: reconnecting believers to the living roots of their faith.

Our Mission

"For the most part, the Christian community has not understood the rich heritage to which its faith is built. However, many Christians are rediscovering these connections and wondering how they can understand the Jewishness of their faith in a practical way."

This website is on a Mission Impossible to Christendom — but Possible to those who have opened to the forgotten Way of True Saving Faith, as Yeshua Jesus said: "…Salvation is of the Jews…"

Knowledge

Deep engagement with Scripture in its original Hebraic and historical context.

Understanding

Connecting the Old and New Testaments as one unified story of redemption.

Wisdom

Applying timeless biblical truth to life, faith, and community in the modern world.

Our Approach

Ancient and Modern — Deep Made Simple

The program combines both the ancient and the most modern in an education experience that is as rigorous as it is accessible. We believe that deep biblical truth should not be locked away in academic institutions — it belongs to every believer.

We are committed to implementing the finest in innovative, cutting-edge technology to deliver this content to a worldwide student population. Our goal is to make the deep things of Scripture simple, engaging, and transformative.

Study it, do it, teach it — the Ezra 7:10 model is the heartbeat of everything we do. Students are not merely informed; they are equipped and sent.

The Miracle of the Scarlet Thread

One unbroken story of redemption — from Genesis to Revelation.

From the first shedding of blood in the Garden of Eden to the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world, the Scarlet Thread of redemption runs through every book of Scripture. It is the miracle hidden in plain sight — the crimson cord that ties the Hebrew Scriptures to the New Testament as one seamless covenant story.

Rahab's scarlet cord in the window (Joshua 2:18), the blood of the Passover lamb on the doorposts (Exodus 12:13), the crimson thread of the Day of Atonement — all of these point forward to the blood of Yeshua Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).

To understand the Scarlet Thread is to see that the cross was not an afterthought. It was the plan from the beginning — woven into every sacrifice, every feast, every prophecy of the Hebrew Scriptures.

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace."

Ephesians 1:7

Pressing Toward the Mark

The race set before us — running with purpose and endurance.

The Apostle Paul — a Hebrew of Hebrews, trained at the feet of Gamaliel — used the language of the Greek athletic games to describe the life of faith: "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:14).

But the mark Paul pressed toward was not vague. It was the full knowledge of Messiah — knowing Him in the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings (Philippians 3:10). This is the goal of the Isaiah 11:1 Project: not merely information about Jesus, but transformation into His likeness.

Pressing toward the mark means leaving behind the milk of elementary teaching and pressing into the deep things of God — the Hebraic roots, the ancient covenants, the prophetic fulfillments — until the whole counsel of Scripture becomes the living Word that shapes how we think, how we live, and how we love.

"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
